Project Runway: Filming day one!

Alyssa has already began filming the third season of “Project Runway: All Stars”! A photo surfaced online earlier today, showing Alyssa in a beautiful dress by Marchesa Fashion. I’m not sure when the show will premiere yet, but I will let you all know as soon as I find out!

Alyssa Milano may not be known for her fashion expertise, but the “Who’s The Boss?” star sure knows television. That’s why it makes sense that Milano is the new host of “Project Runway All Stars.”

The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reveals that Lifetime has tapped the actress for the third season of the “Project Runway” spinoff series. Milano will be joining our favorite chatty designer, Isaac Mizrahi, and the oh-so-glam Georgina Chapman of Marchesa, who both are returning judges.

Since “Project Runway” has become a household TV staple, Milano has big shoes (stilettos?) to fill — models Angela Lindvall and Carolyn Murphy have each hosted the previous two seasons of “All Stars,” while Heidi Klum has hosted the entire 14-season run of the original show. So unlike the typical runway-walking host, Milano’s fashion resume might seem a bit skimpy. (She does have a clothing and jewelry line, though.)

Perhaps a little Hollywood star power is just what the show needs to stay relevant. Tell us: Do you think Milano has what it takes to be “in” on “Project Runway”? Watch the season three premiere this fall to find out.

‘Project Runway All Stars’: Alyssa Milano to Host Third Season (Exclusive)

The actress, who also stars in ABC’s new drama “Mistresses,” will join returning judges Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman.

Alyssa Milano has her next project all sewn up. The actress has signed on as the new host of Lifetime’s design competition Project Runway All Stars, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

She will join returning judges Isaac Mizrahi and Georgina Chapman for the third season, which begins production in New York in June for a fall premiere.

The designers who will be competing for another shot at the crown have not yet been announced. Previous winners include Mondo Guerra (season one) and Anthony Ryan Auld (season two).

Milano, who follows in the footsteps of previous hosts Angela Lindvall (season one) and Carolyn Murphy (season two), is no stranger to the design world: She has her own clothing and jewelry line, Touch by Alyssa Milano, featuring pro-sports-themed apparel for women.

Milano’s Project Runway All Stars role also reunites her with the network for which she previously starred in the movies Sundays at Tiffany’s and Wisegal, the latter of which she also produced.

Meanwhile, the actress also returns to the small screen Monday night on ABC’s new drama series Mistresses. The show, based on the U.K. series, centers on the scandalous lives of a sexy and sassy group of four girlfriends, each on her own path to self-discovery.

Mistresses, which premieres at 10 p.m., also stars Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Ayte, Jes Macallan, Brett Tucker, Jason George and Erik Stocklin.

Milano’s other TV credits include WB Network’s Charmed, NBC’s My Name Is Earl and ABC’s Romantically Challenged. She most recently was seen on the big screen in New Year’s Eve and Hall Pass. She also released the book Safe at Home: Confessions of a Baseball Fanatic, which chronicles her passion for baseball and how her love for the game has helped shape who she is.

She is repped by CAA and manager Jason Barrett at Alchemy.

Project Runway All Stars is produced by The Weinstein Co. and Bunim/Murray Productions. Executive producers include TWC’s Harvey Weinstein, Bob Weinstein, Meryl Poster and Barbara Schneeweiss; Bunim/Murray’s Jonathan Murray and Gil Goldschein; Rob Bagshaw (Top Chef Masters); and Lifetime’s Rob Sharenow, Gena McCarthy and David Hillman.
